HAWK BUCKMAN

VISUAL STORY-TELLER | CONSERVATION PHOTOGRAPHER | NONCONFORMIST

I've been a professional photographer for over 30 years. I view the art of photography from a purest perspective which developed from the heady days of film which I still shoot from time to time.

I'm an adventurous soul and explorer. I prefer to be in the bush connecting with nature but, I'm just at home in a big city.

I love telling stories. There's nothing better than taking on a new assignment and discovering and documenting events, cultures, places and things that connects the human race and the natural world together.

I've been very lucky to have made successful visual statements in publications over the years. Being a nonconformist has had its advantages and its pitfalls.

My philosophy is that if you don't take a chance to the point of risking it all you'll never successfully capture a story worth telling.
