When I arrived at Cannon Beach, Oregon, in May of 2021, the skies were overcast as a storm had seized the previous two days with howling wind and rain, as expected in the Pacific Northwest in Spring. However, the skies began to clear as the storm system moved to the east the following morning. Still drizzling rain, I walked to the beach the next day as people started to get outside for morning walks.
