This image is western Nebraska; dark, dusty, overbearing, and dramatic lacking hope or a future other than lonely roads and isolation.
I spent a very long time in western Nebraska. During that time, I traveled many roads and experienced many things, good and bad. I found help and friendship, and right when it seemed that I could manage, I was ready to get out of there as quickly as possible. Western Nebraska is somewhere other than where I want to stay or visit. One reason is that the only thing consistent is the dirt roads that lead everywhere and nowhere.
