I’m always making mental notes about where an image may naturally occur. For example, changing weather is something I’m always looking for, something that makes an otherwise dull scene something to remember. I often passed this scene on River Road near the North Platte River. It’s one of those scenes you study and plan to make an image of on the right day. On this day, the snow covered the ground. It was an overcast and dreary day. The stark contrast and textures made the image stand out, so I pulled over and made a few images while squatting under a barbwire fence, trying to avoid powerlines that were just out of the frame. This image is more of an experiment rather than a solid art piece.
