On April 09, 2023, I was testing a Leica lens when I noticed three tulips my girlfriend had purchased growing in a tall vase. The sun was setting on the horizon, so I placed the vase on a wooden table outside to take advantage of the light. Frustrated and unable to frame the image the way I wanted due to the vase’s height, I noticed how the arrangement was viewed looking down on it. I made three images. Unfortunately, two negatives were badly scratched when I dropped the film in the darkroom, scratching the emulsion beyond repair. The third was perfect.
