I got up early to work and spent several hours editing images before deciding I needed a short break from staring into the void of a computer monitor. I went outside and sat down with my camera in hand and just watched the trees for anything interesting. A Mourning dove (on the right) landed on this tree branch. I watched for a second, raised my camera and just as I focused another Mourning dove (Zenaida macroura) flew in from the left. I snapped this image just as he/she was about to land beside its mate.
