About Hawk Buckman
Hawk Buckman is a Getty Images® conservation, environmental, and wildlife documentary photographer, which it took him over twenty-five years to accomplish. A professional National Press Photographers Association member and a National Press Photographers Foundation supporter, Hawk has contributed to climate awareness and animal rights since 2004, earning him recognition from several global brands as a published photojournalist.
A professional photographer for over thirty years, Hawk’s view of the world is unique partly due to mental illness, which he struggles with daily. However, his art allows him a reprieve from Bipolar disorder, A.D.D., and P.T.S.D., which he only learned he suffered from in 2018. Since then, his attention in his independent projects has shifted to include climate, ecological and mental illness awareness.
Hawk’s experience led him to function as a documentary photographer able to accomplish anything from weddings to documentary series in still images or film. However, as of 2020, his interest shifted to fine art.
